The sun was shining bright outside on the decks of the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship but deep with in on a dark stage comedy magician Brian Cook was getting ready to perform. This wasn’t just any performance but a competition against other top magic acts all from all over the world and on this day Brian was victorious winning 3 gold medals for his stage and close-up acts and also for the most innovative act which is not always awarded.

Many magicians are always asked how they got started in magic. Brian became captivated by magic at a very young age after his father brought him to a magic show in Greenville Rhode Island. He was hooked. It wasn’t long after that show when he went to a local library to look for books on how to do magic tricks. His love for magic grew even more throughout the years after watching the greats like Doug Henning and David Copperfield perform on their television specials.

He was asked once what makes his show different then everyone else and here is what he had to say. “I learned almost all of my magic early on from books so I had to develop routines around the tricks. I didn’t have other magicians to watch so I didn’t know how the tricks were supposed to look like.” He is now one of the most sought after magicians in the Pacific Northwest and even other local magicians seek his advice as to how to develop their tricks into acts. Brian has won many awards over the years for his creativity and showmanship. Brian now performs his shows for large corporations all over the United States and plans on entreating for many more years to come.
